John David Ritner

John David Ritner, 46, passed away suddenly in his home in Findlay, Ohio on Wednesday, January 28, 2009.

He was born in Toledo on September 28, 1962. He was preceded in death by grandparents Alex and Mildred Baronas and John and Julia Ritner, uncles Ronald Baronas and Fred Fontana, and aunts Jeanette Weichelt and Eileen Otersen.

John was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Findlay for the past 13 years and also taught at Tiffin University and Owens Community College. He was an avid world traveler, spoke many languages, was very fond of literature, old movies and fine wine. He loved cooking and trying new recipes. John was a kind, loving and wonderful person and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Surviving are his loving parents, John and Jeanne (Baronas) Ritner, brother Michael, special nephew C.J., aunts and uncles Ana Fontana, Mary Baronas, Michael and Phyllis (Baronas) Buzene, David and Nancy Barones, and many cousins. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where the family will receive friends after 1:00 p.m.

Barbara Spence Rigall passed away on January 17, 2012.

H. Philip Peterson III

A funeral was held yesterday at J.S. Waterman and Sons-Waring Funeral Home in Wellesley for H. Philip Peterson 3d, an attorney and Persian Gulf War Veteran, who died Tuesday [December 7, 1993] at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, N.J., of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 31.

Mr. Peterson was born in Boston. He graduated from St. John's College in Annapolis, Md., and graduated cum laude from Rutgers University School of Law. He was a member of the law firm Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst and Ducas in New Brunswick, N.J.

Mr. Peterson was a Navy veteran and served during the Persian Gulf War as a lieutenant.

He was raised in Woburn and later lived in Waltham. At the time of his death he was a resident of Somerville, N.J.

He leaves his parents, Jacqeline Garabedian of Waltham and H. Philip Peterson Jr. of Woburn; a sister, Victoria I. Peterson of Belmont; a brother, Eric W. Peterson of Pinckney, Mich.; and his maternal grandfather, John N. Garabedian of Woburn.

Burial will be in Newton Cemetery.
